The
Threshold
Within

There are few places where we can speak honestly about death, so many of us avoid the conversation altogether.

The Threshold Within is an invitation to gently turn toward what we usually turn away from.

Over six sessions, we’ll gather virtually as a small group to explore our personal relationship with mortality through reflection, dialogue, contemplative practice, and compassionate witnessing.

This isn’t about finding the “right” perspective on death. It’s about discovering your own.

But what if the greatest source of our discomfort isn’t death itself?

What if it’s having nowhere to bring our questions, our fears, our wonder, and our longing?

What You’ll Experience

You don’t need to arrive with answers, a particular belief system, or even a clear idea of what you hope to find. Each gathering offers a gentle structure, while leaving room for the conversation to unfold naturally.

There is no right way to enter a conversation about mortality.

YOU ARRIVE

No preparation required. No expertise in death, grief, or spirituality required.

WE SETTLE IN

We’ll begin with a simple grounding practice and an invitation into the evening’s theme.

WE EXPLORE

Through guided questions and open conversation, we’ll make room for whatever arises.

WE LISTEN

There is space to speak, and space simply to witness what others are carrying.

YOU LEAVE WITH SOMETHING

Not necessarily an answer. Perhaps a question. A new perspective. A deeper appreciation for being here.

Is This Circle For You?

You might be:

  • Curious about mortality and what it means to live more consciously

  • Navigating a transition, loss, or a season of uncertainty

  • Caring for someone you love and finding yourself thinking about what matters most

  • Interested in exploring questions of meaning, purpose, love, and impermanence

  • Simply drawn to conversations that don’t always have a place in everyday life

There is no right reason to come. Curiosity is enough.

About Your Facilitator

I’m Alison Keller, an end-of-life doula, writer, and facilitator. My work centers on creating space for honest conversations about mortality, loss, meaning, and the ways awareness of death can change how we live.

I’ve learned, both personally and through my work with individuals and families, that we don’t have to wait for a crisis to begin asking the questions that matter. The Threshold Within grew from my belief that exploring these questions together can be grounding, meaningful, and even life-giving.

I bring an open, attentive presence to this work, with a commitment to listening deeply, honoring difference, and creating space for each person to arrive as their whole self.

I believe meaningful conversations about mortality must make room for authentic expression and the fullness of our lived experience. Who we are and how we experience the world are shaped by culture, identity, ability, privilege, and the systems we move through. This work asks me to keep listening, learning, and staying accountable to the people I serve.
